About Us

In Motion

In Motion has more than doubled in enrollment since its inception.  In Motion is pleased to host qualified instructors; Tricia Moore and Jessica Renzi.  In Motion relocated in 2007 and is no longer located in the YMCA Fairgrounds building.  We can now be found on outer Arsenal Street, next to the Cheese Store.  In Motion now offers classes in two spacious studios, over 900 square feet each!  In Motion is also home to the new Nutcracker!  Beginning in December 2006, In Motion staged and choreographed its own production of The Nutcracker and will continue to bring this holiday ballet classic to the community year after year.  You can contact us at 785-5513 or inmotion@twcny.rr.com.

Shereen Daly

Shereen is the owner and operator of In Motion School of Dance.  She spent three years teaching at local dance studios before opening her own school for dance in the summer of 2000.  Shereen is a graduation of IHC, as well as a graduate of the dance program at SUNY Potsdam, where she was involved in student and faculty dance productions.  She gained experience in dance with visiting professionals while there.  Shereen was able to attend and compete in the American College Dance Festival (ACDF) in New Jersey and also at Bates College in Maine where she choreographed and performed in a collaborative effort, "Insomnia," which was chosen to be recognized in a gala concert in Maine.

In 1997 Shereen had the honor of attending the composition workshop at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Lee, MA.  It was there that she was able to work with dancers from Mark Morris dance company as well as faculty from NYU in aspects of technique and choreography.

Shereen also attended Dance Magazine's 4th annual summer conference in 2003, taking classes from instructors such as Frank Hatchett, Debbie Dee, Bob Rizzo, and Deborah Vogel.

Shereen's six years working for the YMCA SACC program, three years of substitute teaching, and three years as the coach of the varsity cheerleading squad at WHS have all helped her to formulate her own teaching philosophies which she implements at her dance school.

Shereen is married to Shawn Daly and has three young children; Kyra, Kody, and new addition Kyle!

Tricia Moore

Tricia began her first year with In Motion during the summer dance camps in 2001.  Tricia is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam, where she received bachelor's degrees in Dance and Education, as well as a Master's in Reading.  Tricia is certified in New York State in both areas.

Tricia received ballet training locally from Jean Spear and has taught in the area for almost ten years.  Tricia oversees our ballet program as well as her own competitive groups.

Tricia has participated in classes offered by PDTA in Syracuse.  Tricia travels to Potsdam on occasion to continue her training with faculty, guest choreographers and companies.  She also attended Dance Magazine's 4th Annual Summer Dance Conference in NYC.  Tricia has also taken classes at DanceSpace in New York City.
